KUMD is proud to sponsor Music in the HART at Lake Place Park in downtown Duluth.

Music in the HART (Historic Arts & Theatre District) concert series runs every Thursday of August, beginning August 2. This free, family-friendly event will feature music performed by new bands each week, accompanied by food and beverages along the shore of Lake Superior.

American indie rock band, Modest Mouse, is rocking their way up to Duluth on Tuesday, September 18 at the DECC. Modest Mouse was formed in 1992 in Issaquah, Washington and is now based in Portland, Oregan. The rock band is currently on a national tour this fall.

Congratulations to all the KUMD listeners who won tickets to see The Avett Brothers when they visit Duluth for the first time this fall. The North Carolina brothers, Scott and Seth Avett along with Bob Crawford, Joe Kwon, Tania Elizabeth, and Mike Marsh make up the American folk rock band. They are recognized for electrifying live performances featuring songs about life, joy, and tragedy.

KUMD is a proud sponsor of Duluth Readerfest: The Best Festival Money Can't Buy! Cloud Cult will return to the Bayfront stage joined by a variety local bands and musicians: Alamode, Todd Eckart, Woodblind, Nat Harvie Trio, and Ingeborg von Agassiz. The music will start at 3pm. The Kids Korner will be open from 3-6pm featuring Dan the Monday Man, a climbing wall, a bounce house, face painting, and a magic village.

Be sure to stop by the KUMD tent and say hi to our volunteers!

KUMD is proud to support Lake Ave Live bringing a line-up of local and regional musicians to Canal Park during the marathon weekend. Friday's line-up is all women fronted and a portion of the proceeds will be donated to PAVSA. Stop by the KUMD table for gifts and to meet our staff/volunteers.

The event is to spread awareness on how damaging the use of plastics is to our environment and to celebrate our Earth. There will be many activities going on during the event including engaging videos, speakers, free food and drinks, music, a bonfire with s'mores, a planter project, and yoga!
