While there’s no shame in calling Homegrown and snipping off the wristband after Saturday night,  Brunch and Recovery Sunday is there for those who need it.

Who knew when Scott “Starfire” Lunt put together a two-night local music showcase at Duluth’s NorShor Theatre that 20 years later it would still be going strong, spreading out to encompass more than a week of festivities.

Teague Alexy and Erik Berry
Christine Dean for KUMD

Teague Alexy's Irish immigrant grandparents inspired his love of Irish music, while one of mandolinist Erik Berry's pre-Trampled by Turtles bands was called Father McClanahan and His Irish Snake Stompers. The two found themselves comparing notes about Irish music for years before joining forces to perform and record in the genre. They released an album, Irish American, in late 2017. They joined us in the studio on March 14 to give us a preview of a run of shows they have scheduled for St.

We are wrapping up our 60th Anniversary Celebration in style by partnering with Teague Alexy as he releases his new album: Circuit Sessions with a CD release party at The Red Herring Lounge on Saturday, June 10th at 8pm.

This local musician will join us in the studio on Tuesday, April 4 at 2pm. He releases his new album, Circuit Sessions, the same day. Recorded in Duluth, the disc features musicians Eric Pollard of Actual Wolf, Steve Garrington of Low, and Minneapolis guitarist Jake Hanson. We'll talk with Teague about the album, his writing and podcast projects, and his upcoming release show in Duluth.

Musician, singer, songwriter, band member...

Perennial KUMD favorite Teague Alexy adds "author"  to his  resume with the release of  "The New Folklore: Lyrical Tales for Dreamers & Thinkers," a collection of rhyming folktales made up of rescued bits and pieces from the cutting-room floor of his 2006 album, "The New Folklore."
